Another Fond du Lac Habitat for Humanity Home Protected with Fire Sprinklers

NFSA-WI Regional Manager Dan Gengler conducts a side-by-side fire and sprinkler burn demonstration for an open house at a sprinklered Habitat for Humanity home in Fond du Lac.

A new Habitat for Humanity home built in Fond du Lac has the distinct advantage of fire sprinkler protection should there ever be a fire. The home, which houses a family of four, is the third Habitat for Humanity home in as many years to feature a fire sprinkler system that is designed to save lives.

In conjunction with the home build and an open house to view the fire sprinkler system, Dan Gengler, regional manager for the Wisconsin Chapter of the National Fire Sprinkler Association, conducted and educational side-by-side fire and sprinkler burn demonstration, which was covered by WLUK-TV (FOX 11).

“We lost about 60 people in my 26 years with the Milwaukee Fire Department and had fire sprinklers been in there with the exception of the one where they intended to take their own life, the other 59 would’ve survived,” said Dan Gengler, regional manager for the Wisconsin Chapter of the National Fire Sprinkler Association.
