Fire Officer’s Four Steps to Residential Sprinkler Advocacy

Residential Fire SprinklerFor the safety of their community and crew, fire officers must first become informed and educated about residential fire sprinklers. Next, they must become residential fire sprinkler advocates, following these four steps:

  1. Educate firefighters on why residential sprinklers are important for resident and firefighter life safety.
  2. Teach firefighters how to manage a fire that’s been extinguished or controlled by a residential sprinkler.
  3. Demonstrate a positive attitude towards residential sprinklers in interactions with community members.
  4. Become part of the process to make residential fire sprinklers a requirement for new single- and multi-family construction.
