Fire Sprinklers At Work (Fall/Winter 2016 Edition)

Municipal Garage

The fire sprinkler system at the city’s municipal garage confined a fire in a dump truck. Firefighters used a small water can to fully extinguish the fire. The remainder of the city’s snow and heavy equipment fleet was not damaged by the fire. No injuries were reported.

A single fire sprinkler controlled and extinguished a stovetop fire in the kitchen of one unit in the four-story senior living apartment complex. No injuries were reported.
“We would have had a lot of people displaced, had there not been any fire sprinkler system,” said Guy Santelli, division chief of the Kenosha Fire Prevention Bureau.

The fire sprinkler system in the 3-story residential building activated and extinguished a cooking fire in the kitchen of one of the living units, preventing if from spreading. No injuries were reported.

The fire sprinkler system in the apartment complex controlled an early morning kitchen fire, which was caused by unattended cooking on a stovetop, and kept it from spreading. All residents evacuated safely and without harm.

The industrial building’s fire sprinkler system extinguished an early morning fire, containing it to one area of the plant. No injuries were reported.

The fire sprinkler save comes almost exactly one year after an October 2015 save at the same business.
